My name is Andrea Bianchi and I am a Ph.D. student at the Graduate School of Culture Technology (GSCT) in the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), South Korea. My research interest is an interdisciplinary branch of Human Computer Interaction (HCI), more specifically about Haptic Security Interfaces and how they are used in an Ubiquitous Computing environment.
I work as researcher in two labs at KAIST, the Human Robot Interaction center (HRI) in the Mechanical Engineering Department, and the Experience lab in Culture Technology.
If you would like to know more about me or my research and projects you can check my personal web page (which contains some of the projects I developed during my master) or Also Plants Fly, a blog about interfaces and interaction on which I regularly write.
You can also contact me through email, Facebook or Linked.
My friends in Korea address me with a Korean name: 안두리. Feel free to use it.
Short bio
I am from Italy, where I studied until the completion of my undergraduate degree in business and administration from Bocconi University in Milan. Then I moved to New York, where I got my Master in Computer Science from New York University (NYU). After school I found a job at Rebel Monkey as game developer, where I worked with Nick Fortugno as lead programmer on a casual game title. I moved finally to South Korea at the beginning of 2008 where I started my Ph.D.
